Easterseals Iowa is a non-profit organization that supports indviduals living with disabilites live, learn, work, and play in the community.

We are currently look for a Team Leader for our Vocational department. This department helps our clients with learning the skills needed to be a sucessful employees for companies all around the Des Moines area. They help with everything for volunteer experiences to help build skills, going through the hiring process (resume building, interview skills/coaching, etc.) to supporting clients after they get their job. The Team Leader is a hands on supervisor role meaning you will be supervising coworkers in the department but also supporting clients as needed.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Provide full range of leadership duties including, but not limited to:
  • Select and train team members.
  • Build team work and effectiveness by coordinating team building, monthly meetings and one to one meetings to ensure open lines of communication and alignment to the agency strategic goals policy and procedure.
  • Provide team members with ongoing feedback, coaching, counseling and performance management.
  • Work with team members to ensure their personal and professional development including new team member orientation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field /or three years' experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
  • Experience with leadership and training preferred.
  • One year experience working with persons with disabilities on vocational goals preferred.
